Since the first adaptation of a Philip K. Dick story, back in 1982, cinema, has long been indebted to this imaginative genius. Surely he must stand, as one of the most influential science fiction writers in cinema.
It is a great shame that Philip K only got to see one of his stories (Do Androids Dream Of Electric Sheep?) adapted for the screen. Of course we know that film as Blade Runner and like most of Philip K's ideas, he was way ahead of his time. 34 years later, the ideas and concepts from Philip K's work are still being explored and with such a rich tapestry of work, I imagine that there will be an on-going and long investigation into the meetings of the human condition, technology and dystopian futures. Without a doubt, his works have gone on to influence literature, cinema and TV in both the 20th and 21st centuries and I believe he can be fully credited, as a truly original visionary in the world of Sci-fi concepts and futurism.

TV ADAPTATIONS
Philip K's television adaptations include 1962 version of Imposter on the show; Out Of This World. The Man In The High Castle and the upcoming Electric Dreams: The World of Philip K. Dick a 10 part anthology series for Channel 4.
