With Luke Evans' departure from The Crow reboot, many of us were left wondering who exactly would be able to fill his shoes in look and acting prowess? Well Jason Mamoa (Game Of Thrones) will be taking time off between the shooting of Justice League and the solo Aquaman flick to play an incarnation of the Crow. Personally, I hope they leave the Eric Draven character alone, but at the same time I wouldn't wholly mind if Mamoa did play the first Crow. Some fans have shown to be a bit perturbed that the Crow franchise is heading into the field of rebootaship in the first place, but if you have watched the sequels, I think it makes more sense to start from fresh, than just add another cheap episode to the mix. The follow-up films ranged from competent (Salvation) to outright horrendous! (the rest)! But this time around, I get a feeling that the franchise will be treated with the respect that it deserves. The Crow was originally being helmed by director F. Javier Gutiérrez, but he will now serve as an executive producer. Corin Hardy (The Hallow) is the new Captain and the story/script is being penned by Nick Cave of the Bad Seeds. |
