"Members therefore had the double pressure of taking on a mission knowing that they could die during the assignment or by having a bomb go off inside their heads".
The newer members; captured villains, would be forced to take on extremely dangerous missions, some would be afforded a lesser sentencing or more likely an easier incarceration period. But the real selling point was in the knowledge that they had each been implanted with a time bomb that nested cosily in their heads. This precaution usually persuaded the diabolical criminals to say 'yes', to a mission (especially if the bomb timer had already been activated before they had even agreed to go) but also served as the main reason to absolutely behave whilst free and make the utmost effort to return. Members therefore had the double pressure of taking on a mission knowing that they could die in combat or by having a bomb go off inside their heads, because they failed to complete the mission within a set time frame. This is the latest reason why the Suicide Squad have this name.
