It looks like the Fantastic Four redux is really taking its reboot status seriously...
Unlike the first efforts of The Amazing Spiderman reboot, which seemed to be a verbatim account of Tobey Maguire's first outing, the writers and producers for the new Fantastic Four and on initial spec, seem to have gone all out - it does look fantastically morose. In this re-telling of the doomed mission, that would give four astronauts special abilities, it would appear that the main differences in this revised tale are that:
1. There is no space shuttle mission, instead there is a teleportation experiment to another planet/dimension/universe that doesn't go to plan.
2. The characters are a lot younger.
3. Susan Storm, normally the elder sibling to Johnny, is probably adopted or a step-child, as Johnny Storm and his father Dr. Franklin Storm are African-American.
4. Normally quite light-hearted, this Fantastic Four is looking dark and sombre.
5. This may actually a bonafide Sci-fi film.
