When we are dead, we are at our hardest, our most inflexible and incapable of giving anything to anybody.
In the realm of health we are advised to do exercises that make us flexible and strong.
And though there is strength in flexibility - there is not always flexibility in strength.
So, here is an aim:
I choose flexibility over pure strength. To achieve a better quality of life, I believe we should strive to be flexible in body, but also in the mind. But how can the mind bend I hear you ask? Remaining true to our programming is not a crime, but to never accept anybody else's way of living shows a rigidity. Other people's lifestyles don't have to effect you, acknowledging that they do exist, enriches your understanding of the world and this does not have to lead to a compromise in how you live. A flexible mind can at the very least begin to comprehend and give itself time to understand change and things that are alternative to what it knows. Those who hold on to their own 'form' too tightly are quite capable of crystallising it...and even emotions, which are meta-physical can become 'alive' in the body in a negative way. |
