In the rap game somebody's nose is always getting bent out of shape and too often it's usually over an offence that was never even meant. It is particularly surprising in the ensuing battle between LL Cool J and Canibus, that the actual altercation happened during a song that they were recording together!

THE INCITING INCIDENT
After Canibus agreed to change his lyrics, LL decided to leave his verse as is, the same verse where he lyrically reprimands Canibus for the borrowing of the mic off his arm. The videos below show the original edit where Canibus is still in the video, then the second cut where he is taken out of the video altogether. But in both version the diss still exists.

Angry at LL Cool Js treachery, as LL did say he would change his verse, Canibus prepared a harsh response and in enlisting the help of Wyclef Jean of The Fugees and boxer Mike Tyson, he came out with a no holds barred lambasting of LL Cool J with the song Second Round K.O. but not to be outdone, LL who is no stranger to battling, prepared a counter attack in the song The Ripper Strikes Back.

This is not where the battle ends as Canibus samples LL Cool J's own song I'm Bad to produce Rip The Jacker and once again LL came back with his own reply Back Where I Belong.
