GOGO, Crowd Company and PB Underground all represented well. A good night was had by all! I'll be providing the soundtrack for the evening of Saturday July 25th, as we delve into another night of Brooklyn Bowl's monthly Funk & Soul night: Turn It Loose. Bands featured this time around are: PB Underground, Crowd Company and GOGO. PB UNDERGROUND "The PB UNDERGROUND (PBUG), led by drummer extraordinaire Pete Ray Biggin, are at the forefront of the New Wave of Funk and the UK’s hottest funk sensation. Recently nominated Best Live UK Show Of The Year for the Jazz FM Awards, the band recently released a highly anticipated new album ‘Stand Up’ to rave reviews." CROWD COMPANY "Experience some original retro funk and soul with a modern twist from the 8 piece band Crowd Company. With a brimful of energy, a raw edge, catchy hooks and tight grooves, the band have a finely tuned sound based around retro funk grooves with a soul edge. The band evokes the spirit of 60s and early 70s funk as well as modern day funk jam bands whilst also focusing on strong soulful songwriting." GOGO "GOGO are a jazz funk band featuring band members who have played with the likes of Joss Stone and Duran Duran. They have a groovey sound which blends together old school and new school funk influences from the likes of Herbie Hancock, Snarky Puppy, Lettuce. Since their 2014 debut at the Ealing Jazz Festival the band have been been busy gigging across the UK to great acclaim. Marvel continue to show that they are on the zeitgeist of modern day audiences and have produced the first set of nostalgic, Hip-Hop album covers. With a kinda alternate universe theme, prepare to see your favourite Hip-Hop albums 'marvelised'.
